He was born in Ely, Minnesota on 24 Sep 1907 and moved to Virginia, Minnesota with his parents and siblings in 1916 (age 9). In 1940 when he registered for the draft he was 5’ 9 1/2” 140 pounds with blue eyes and brown hair. He lived with his parents at 314 3rd Street South, Virginia, Minnesota all his life. He never married and was very much a recluse. He spent some time in 1963-4 for mental illness at Moose Lake State Hospital. When he worked it was as a laborer for Oliver Iron Mining Company. He was listed as retired in 1973. His sister Alberta and her family lived in the upstairs of the duplex 314 1/2 3rd Street South, and watched over Tony, who lived alone downstairs after their parents died. His last few years he was institutionalized in Virginia with Alzheimer’s disease.
