Stanley Beckwith and Son, General Agents for the Piedmont and Arlington Life Insurance Company of Virginia. The 1872 Haddock’s Macon, Georgia directory lists the address for T. Stanley Beckwith and , General Agents (T. Stanley and John) as 92 Mulberry. T. Stanley Beckwith lives on High between Spring and Orange and his son John Beckwith lives on Mulberry between Spring and New. Dr. (?) John Beckwith and Mrs. John S. Beckwith are registered as communicants of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Macon on 7 May 1871 (St. Paul’s had just been organized on 25 March 1869 by previous members of Christ Episcopal Church). In October 1871 John marries C. E. Edwards in Augusta, Richmond County, Georgia. They lived in Augusta until after their first child died on 22 July 1873, and then moved back to Petersburg between 1873 and 1875 as their oldest child, John is born in 1875 in Petersburg. At age 34 in 1880 he is a bank clerk and lived at 150 Jefferson Street, West Side, Petersburg, Virginia with his wife C.E. (age 27, born in South Carolina), John F. (age five and born in Virginia) and Catherine W. (age one and born in Virginia)

Edwards in Augusta, Richmond County, Georgia. John was not a Dr. nor married on 7 May 1871, and Mary Isabel was not born to T. Stanly until 1874.
