MATKOVICH-PLAUTZ
On Saturday, May 4, 1946, at Rose of Lima Church, Milwaukee, at 8:20 a.m. Miss Sophia Plautz, daughter of Mrs. Mary Plautz, Willard, Wis., was united in marriage to Martin Matkovich Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Matkovich Sr., of Willard. Rev. Father officiated at the nuptial High Mass. The bride was given away in marriage by her brother-in-law, George Kuge. She wore a white lace gown with a train, long sleeves, and fitted bodice and buttoned down the back to a lowered waistline. Her fingertip veil was held in place with orange blossom pompoms. She wore a heart shaped locket, a gift of the groom and carried a bouquet of white roses and red carnations.
The groom wore a brown suit with a white rose buttoniere. He was attended by George Plautz, brother of the bride, who also wore a brown suit with a white rose buttoniere. Immediately following the ceremony, breakfast for the bridal party was given by Rosaline Plautz, sister of the bride. Dinner was given later in the day at the home of Mrs. George Kuge, another sister of the bride. Reception was held at 8:30 that evening at Kralp's Hall for 75 guests. Those from out-of-town who attended the wedding were: Louis Matkovick, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Rausen, Mrs. John Plautz, George Plautz of Willard and Mr. and Mrs. John Matkovich of Alma. The young couple will make their home on the groom's farm south of Willard. The Gleaner joins their many friends in extending congratulations and best wishes for many years of happy wedded life.
