He emigrated from Quebec in 1894. On 1 June 1905 George, 30, and Agnes, 17, Fortin lived in the Second Ward of Washburn, Wisconsin. Both had been born in Canada and George worked as a quarryman. ®5375 On 15 April 1910 George Warton (sic), a 35 year old saw mill laborer lived on Roy’s Point Road in Bayfield County, Wisconsin with his wife Agnes, 21, and children Wilford, 4, and Florence 2. They had been married 6 years and had 2 children, both still living. ®4473 George Tuffel Fortin registered for the World War I draft on 12 September 1918 at which time he had moved to Bayfield and was a laborer in the Wachsmuth Lumber Company mill. He was short, of medium build with brown hair. ®5376 On 1 January 1920 George, a 43 year old laborer in a logging camp lived in a house he rented on Red Cliff Road in the Township of Bayfield. His family were his wife Agnes, 31, and children Wilfred, 13, Florence, 12, Albert, 9, Alexander, 8, Henry, 6, Emma, 4 years and 2 months and Phillip, 1 year and 10 months. George had emigrated from Canada in 1894 and become a naturalized citizen in 1903. ®5372 On 1 April 1930 Geo. Fortin, a 54 year old street work laborer lived in a house he rented for $8 a month on 9th Street in Bayfield, Wisconsin. He had emigrated in 1898, was a naturalized citizen and had married at age 29. He lived with Agnes, 41, Wilfred, 24, Florence, 22, Albert, 18, Alex, 18, Henry, 16, Emma, 14, and Philip, 12, all single and born in Wisconsin. ®5387 On 1 April 1940 George Fortin, 4, lived in a house he rented in Bayfield, Wisconsin for $7 a month. He worked as a laborer on a W.P.A. street project. He lived with Agnes, 51, Wilfred, 33, Albert, 27, Alex, 25, Henry, 23, Philip, 21 and Francis, 11. Florence and Emma had left home. ®5388

She had borne 2 children, both still alive, who lived with them, Wilford, 4 and Florence, 2. ®4473 George and Agnes had seven children born between 1910 and 1918. ®5404 On 1 April 1930 she lived with her family in Bayfield, Wisconsin.
