Patricia "Pat" Bresette, age 71, of Ashland, passed away on Saturday, July 5, 2014 at the St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth, MN. She was born March 23, 1943 in Ashland, the daughter of Roger Milligan and Elizabeth (King) Morrin.
Pat graduated from Bayfield High School in 1961. She married Dennis Bresette on December 16, 1961 in Bayfield. They spent the next 6 years living between Kansas and Alaska while Dennis was in the service before settling in Ashland in 1967. Pat was a homemaker and a state certified foster parent to nearly 40 babies and was a loving mother to each of the children she took care of. She later babysat for many years. She enjoyed keeping her home looking nice and cooking for her family, especially apple pie and fudge. Pat also enjoyed spending time with family and friends, going to the casino and watching the Packers, Brewers, Badgers and even golf. She was a kind woman that impacted many lives and will be missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Dennis Bresette of Ashland, 3 daughters, Lora Bresette - Ashland, Amy (Erik) Haukaas - Ashland and Patty Johnson - Ashland, 3 grandchildren, Alyssa Haukaas, Jacob Haukaas and Emily (Ben Barylski) Johnson, a great-granddaughter, Sophie Barylski, 4 brothers, Richard (Bonnie) Milligan - Montana, Daniel (Julie) Milligan - Ashland, Lawrence (Lori) Morrin - Iron River and William (Dana) Morrin - Grantsburg, her father, Roger Milligan - Briggsville, 3 sisters-in-law, Sharon Bresette - Red Cliff, Bonita Bresette - Red Cliff and Cass Joy - Madison, 3 brothers-in-law, Randy Bresette - Red Cliff, Joe (Terry) Bresette - Arizona and Rick LaFernier - Missouri, many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, a special aunt, Doris and friends, Donna, Libby and Hildy.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Elizabeth "Betty" Morrin, and infant brother, Rodney Milligan, a brother, Michael Morrin, her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Hank and Blanche Bresette and 3 brothers-in-law, Stanley, James and Walter Bresette.
A memorial service will be held at 6:00 P.M., Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at the Frost Home For Funerals in Ashland with Pastor Dale Chesley officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 6:00 P.M., Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the BRICK.
