“ Benoni Boutin, Sr. left 8 sons and two daughters: Benoni, Jr., Edward, my grandfather, Thelesfore, who stayed in Kewaunee, Narciss, who changed his name to Nelson, and was in the State legislature during the Civil War, Francois (Frank, Sr.) and father of Meta’s father, Frank, Jr., Joseph, Theophile (Duffy) and Solomon Sr. Their sisters were Claire for Clara, Mrs. Louis Bachand, Adeline, who married David Allie and lived in the Twin Cities. Duffy had a saloon at the corner across the street from the Bayfield Pharmacy. Frank, Sr. and Jr. started the old Boutin store, now torn down, near the old Boutin and Booth fish docks. I could go on. Edward Jr. was an older brother of my father, and was Allison Boutin’s grandfather, his father was Ulric Boutin.”
®7375 Letter from Allen C. Boutin dated 6 September 1982. On 1 June 1860 B. Boutin, Sr. was a 61 year old gardener, born in Canada, who had a personal estate worth $400. He lived in Kewaunee, Wisconsin with Martha, 59, and sons Duffiel?, 15, and Solomon, 13.
