Subject: Re: McDaniel's
George McDaniel is my husband's GGG Grandfather as follows:
GGG Grandfather George McDaniel m. Mariah Ann Flint
GG Grandmother Sarah McDaniel m. John R. Tillery (1) Leonard Hollis (2)
G Grandfather James Marshall Tillery m. Elizabeth Free
Grandmother Letha Ann Tillery m. William Wallace Wade
Mother Sadie Olean Wade m. Milton Parker Hall
Husband Ronald Milton Hall m. Davine Ellen Hall
John R. Tillery's granddaughter, Effie Tillery Clark, told me that Sarah McDaniel came to Texas with her brothers.
Sarah McDaniel had two sons, James Marshall and George Lafayette with John R. Tillery and had a son Leonard and a daughter Mary with Leonard Hollis.
The information I have comes from censuses, research at Clayton Genealogy Library in Houston, personal family history, and postings on GenForum.
Do you show your George Thomas McDaniel married to Mary A. Bickley on March 5, 1876?
Do you show George McDaniel's middle initial to be an A? If so, could it be for Anderson since a son was Anderson?
Could this mean that possibly Mariah's mother's maiden name was Anderson?
Could there be a tie-in to the Flint family
I have not been successful in tracing George McDaniel back. There are some McDaniels in both NC and SC that could be a connection.
Do you have any clues to who George's parents might be?
