Barnum, Bailey, and Hutchinson to Joseph Henry Bowditch, 3 Feb 1884
[From Barnum, Bailey, and Hutchinson in New York, New York, to Joseph Henry Bowditch in Micaville, North Carolina. This is apparently a response to a letter Joseph Bowditch had sent them offering a wooley horse, saying they don't want it.
This letter was in an envelope printed with the logo/advertisement for the Barnum and Bailey Circus. The note itself is on paper with the letterhead of "P. T. Barnum's Greatest Show on Earth and the Great London Circus."
Addressed to "J. H. Bowditch, Micaville, Yancey Co., N. C.," and postmarked "New York, Feb 3, 2 PM, F."]
N. Y. Feby 3 1884

D. Sir,
Yours at hand. Don't want any such horse. Wooley horses are plenty all over the country every winter & spring before shedding.
