Thomas W. Houghton
HOWELL-Thomas William Houghton, 71, of 1011 E. Barron road, died June 20, 1974, at the McPherson Community Health Center. He was bom Aug. 17, 1902 in Redford, a son of George and Augusta ( Hoffman) Houghton. Mr. Houghton moved here from Redford in 1930. He was a retired farmer. Survivors include two sons, Thomas R. and Albert G. Houghton, both of Howell; one daughter, Mrs. Leo (Jeanette) Wines of Howell; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held June 22 from the Schnackenberg Chapel of the Lamb Funeral Home with the Rev. Linus Reed officiating.

Houghton, Emmett Edward; age 85; of Weidman; passed away on Monday, April 6, 2015 at MidMichigan Medical Center in Midland surrounded by his loving family. Emmett was born on June 26, 1929 to Emmett Edward and Alida H. L. (Gutow) Houghten in Farmington, MI. He grew up and attended school in the Farmington area. He married Jeanne Marie Lafond on October 21, 1949 in Angola, Indiana. Emmett was a lifelong farmer and he enjoyed hunting, tractor shows, going to Cheboygan with Jean, and dancing; but spending time with his family was a priority. Emmett is survived by his children, Emmett Houghton, Jr., Linda Aldrich, William (Debby) Houghton, Don (Patsy) Houghton, Dennis Houghton, Diane Houghton, George Houghton, John (Lisa) Houghton and Carol (Larry) Ohnesorg; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; and one sister, Marge (Houghten) Schulkins. A funeral service for Emmett will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at the Maier Family Funeral Home in Weidman at 2 p.m. with Emmett Houghton, Jr officiating.
