David H. Houghton, 86, passed away January 16, 2015. He was born in Canton, Ohio on November 15, 1928 and joined the Navy right out of high school. Mr. Houghton made a career out of the Navy and retired in 1968. He went to work for Holiday Inns and had a second career of 28 years. Then he had time to play some golf which he loved with his good friends. Mr. Houghton leaves behind his loving wife of 62 years, Patsy; two daughters, Mary Whitt and Helen Stillwell; three grandchildren, Andrew Vinson, Laura Vinson Johnston and Jennifer Whitt. He was a member of Bartlett United Methodist Church and he requested any memorials be sent to Bartlett United Methodist Church, in lieu of flowers. Visitation will be 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 20 at the church with service to follow. Interment will be at Forest Hill East Cemetery on Whitten Road. Forest Hill East Funeral Home 901-382-1000

Richard Lee Houghton
Richard Lee Houghton, age 74 of Massillon, Ohio passed away Monday afternoon in the Hospitality House following a brief illness. Born in Canton, Ohio on October 14, 1930 he was the son of the late, Hugh and Helen (Allman) Houghton. He was a retired employee of the Timken Co., retiring in 1987 after 38 years of service. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Houghton. Survivors include four sons and daughters-in-law, Richard Jr. and Sandy Houghton of Spring Valley, CA, Randy and Pam Houghton of Uhrichsville, OH, Rodney Houghton of Wooster, OH and Robert and Josette Houghton of Louisville, OH; daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie and Brent Fowler of California. There are 17 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren; two brothers, David Houghton of Tennessee and Robert Houghton of Alabama. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 1 p.m. in the Reed Funeral Home Canton Chapel with Rev. Raymond Tucker officiating. Burial will be in the Union Lawn Cemetery in Navarre. Calling hours at the funeral home one hour before services on Friday from 12-1 p.m.

Twila A. Houghton
Age 92, of Canton, passed away Friday, March 27, 2015, in McKinley Health Care Center. She was born in Canton, a daughter of the late Orlo and Cornelia (Goodrich) Geib, and was a life resident. Twila was a member of Dueber United Methodist Church.
Preceded in death by her husband, Hugh W. Houghton, on Feb. 18, 1983. Survived by her daughter, Dorothy Butler, of Canton; her son and daughter-in-law, Edwin and Thelma Houghton, of Dayton; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, Lori Ann and Greg Bossick and daughters, Faith and Lucy Casler and Annabele Bossick, of Mogadore, and Michael and Kelly Houghton, and their children, Ashton and Avery, of Vandalia, Ohio.
Services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in the Formet-Clevenger & Gordon Funeral Home with Dr. Chester Harris officiating. Interment in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Friends may call one hour before the services on Monday from 10-11 a.m.
