Helen Louise Houghton, 72, died Monday, Feb. 12, 2001, at her home in Wellington. She was the retired assistant manager of Security Pacific National Bank in Upland, Calif.

She was born Feb. 19, 1928 in Wellington, the daughter of Claude and Edith W. (Huffman) Dixon. She married Joseph E. Houghton on March 2, 1974 in Las Vegas, Nev. He preceded her in death on Aug. 8, 1994.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Richard.

Survivors include her companion, Everett Greeno of Wellington; a daughter, C. Edette King of Bloomington, Calif; two brothers, Bernard Dixon of Valley Falls, Kan., and Harlan Dixon of Wichita; two sisters, Norma Troutt of Kerrville, Texas, and Alice Reece of Baton Rouge, La; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 14, at the Frank Funeral Home. The Rev. Kendale d. Finley will officiate.

Interment will be in the Prairie Lawn Cemetery.

A memorial has been established with Hospice Incorporated, in lieu of flowers. Contributions may be left at the funeral home.

Frank Funeral Home, 417 N. Washington, Wellington, is in charge of arrangements.¹

Linda Valder Houghton February 25, 2011 Linda Valder Houghton, 53, of Auburn, died Friday February 25, 2011. Linda was born in Waterloo, NY, moving to Long Lake at a young age. She was a graduate of Long Lake Central School. She had resided in the Auburn area for the past 25 years and had been employed by Rood Utilities/RCI Heating and AC. Survivors: her husband, William J. Houghton Jr; daughter, Leslie (Ed) Walker of Camillus; sons, Luke Houghton of Auburn and Lee Houghton of Geneva; and grandchildren, Brendan, Evan and Marissa Walker, and Alyssa Houghton. Also survived by her father, Arthur Valder, and her brothers, John and Mark Valder. She was predeceased by her mother, Margaret Janke Valder. Services: noon Thursday in the Wesleyan Church of Long Lake, NY. Burial in Long Lake Cemetery. Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Plis Funeral Home, 220 State St., Auburn.
