ObituaryOct 12, 2016LISA HOUGHTON Lisa Kay (nee Walter) Houghton, 54, of Las Vegas, passed away Oct. 9, 2016. She was born Feb. 12, 1962, in Lakeview, Mich. She was a teacher for the Clark County School District, teaching 1st and 3rd grade at Ruby Thomas Elementary. Lisa lived for helping others and it was apparent in her daily life. Her favorite pastimes were reading, camping, and visiting with family. Lisa's family wants her to be remembered as a wonderful person that put her family first. She returned to school to finish her teaching degree and pursue her dream later in life after her children were grown. No services are planned for the Las Vegas area. A life celebration will be planned in Michigan at a later date. In lieu of flowers, school supplies and monetary donations can be made to Ruby Thomas Elementary, Las Vegas.
