Charlie I am descended from Mary Sophronia Houghton and Theodore Lambert. My grandfather, Charles Ernest Lambert, who was the grandson of Mary and Theodore, is the source of some of my information. The first thing I would add is that Mary and Theodore had a third child. Mary Manette or Manette Mary was born in 1852 and died September 17, 1854. She was buried in Westfield, Marquette County, Wisconsin. Sources for this are my grandfather and findagrave.com.

Mary Sophronia Houghton's father was Charles Houghton. You have him on your site. I believe that this is the same Charles Houghton who is shown as a cousin of Epaphroditus Houghton in the 1855 census in Camden. I don't have concrete proof of this. They were both born in Vermont. They both were from Camden. (Pioneer History of Camden New York says Rhoda married Charles Houghton, the Bryans living in Camden) Also the census said Charles was married, although Rhoda was in the same census living in Kirkland with Mary and Theodore.

Here I can add: Epaphroditus' wife Polly's name was Polly Dick. She died April 19, 1901 in Camden. This is from her obituary which is on fultonhistory.com. (It seems to be down right now.) Epaphroditus died September 25, 1886 in Camden. This is from the obituary and the New York Death index.

Charles Houghton was kind of the mystery man of the family tree. My grandfather said that no one talked about him. I am really curious about the parents of Epaphroditus, since his father may have been the brother of Charles' father. If there are any subtle clues in some of your sources I would appreciate it if you would share.

Also concerning Henry, son of Rhoda and Charles: He was in the army in the Civil War. The record I found said he deserted, but my grandfather said he went back. My grandfather said his wife was Louise or Louisa, and he had two daughters.

I have stories about Henry, Mary and Rhoda that my grandfather recorded if you are interested. Also do you want the descendants of Mary and Theodore?
