Because of the bridegrooms minority, oral permission was given by his father. ®21 She died before her husband and management of the household was assumed by their daughter Francisca. Anton continued to live in the house with Francisca and her husband, but Johanna and Mary had to leave because of the laws of primogeniture which gave the house to Francisca and her husband.

The name of the house where he was raised was "Betank”. The expression "a 1/4 farmer” stands for a farmer who had just one quarter of the usual property for a farmer and was supposed to pay only a quarter of the taxes (for example: a farmer had to pay 21 fl., a 1/2 farmer had to pay 10 fl., and a 1/4 farmer 5 fl. of taxes; those who owned less than 1/4 were considered a crofter or a smallholder. ®21 He died peacefully in the woods. He wrote a good hand and read and spoke well.
