Her last name was spelled Mackaille on her baptismal certificate. Her godfather was Jacques Tremblay and her godmother Geneviéve Savard.
®6315 Her mother died in 1830, two years before her father who died in 1832 so she was an orphan at age 14, 10 years before she married. With whom did she and her siblings live? She was Nazaire’s second wife. On the 1851 Census of Laterriere, Quebec she was 33, born in Baie-Saint-Paul and lived with Nazaire Bouchard and their children Marie, 10, Francois, 8, Délima, 6, Alfred, 3, and Lucine, 2.
®5028 On the 1861 Census of Laterriere Alexandrine Mackay was 43 and lived with Nazaire Bouchard, a 49 year old farmer, Francois, 16, Délima, 15, Luce, 11, Philomène, 7, Hypolite, 3, and Louis, 2. Marie and Alfred no longer lived with them.
®5029 On the 1871 Census of Hébertville, Chicoutimi, Quebec Alexandrine Bouchard, 56 lived with her husband, Nazaire, 60, Délima, 26, Philoméne, 16, Hippolyte, and 13, Louis, 12. All were born in Quebec. François, who would have been 26 no longer lived with them.
®5030On the 1881 Census of Kenogami, Chicoutimi & Saguenay Nazaire was a 72 year old Catholic farmer born in Quebec who lived with Alexandrine, 67, Hypolite, 24, Louis, 22, and Dilema Morin, 34, her husband Joseph Morin, 25 and their son Louis Morin, 2 months. Francois, Luce, and Philomène no longer lived at home.
®5031 Nazaire died 17 July 1887 and Alexandrine McKay survived him. Alexandrine died in 1900 in Acqui, Quebec.
