John Brown was Anna’s second husband. John emigrated in 1889 and they married in 1896. On 1 June 1900 John Brown, a 47 year old day laborer, his wife Auntie (sic) Brown, 40 and their children Mary, 3 years and Charles, 2 months lived on Fifth Street in Bayfield, Wisconsin. Also living with them were step daughters Christina A. Michelson, 14, Aggie H. Michelson, 12, and Martha Michelson, 11, all born in Norway and all of whom immigrated with their mother in 1894.
®9704 On 1 June 1905 John, 52, Anna, 44, Cristinia (sic) Mickleson, 20, Nettie Mickleson, 18, and Martha Mickleson, 17, and Mary Brown, 8, lived in the Town of Bayfield. John was a hotel keeper and had 4 boarders.
®9713On 15 April 1910 John Brown, 56, Anna, 50 and daughter Mary, 13, lived in Red Cliff, Wisconsin. John was a stevedore on the lumber docks and Anna was an employee in a boarding house. Anna was John’s second wife, and they had been married for 14 years. John had emigrated in 1889 and was a naturalized citizen.
®9714 On 1 January 1920 John A. Brown, 67 and retired, his wife Anna M., 61, his daughter Mary Chape, 22, and grandson Donald Chape, 3 years and 3 months lived in a home he owned on Sixth Street in Bayfield, Wisconsin. He had emigrated in 1885 and become a naturalized citizen in 1897.
®9883 On 1 April 1930 John Brown, 78, and Anna Brown, 71 lived alone in a house he rented for $3 a month on Sixth Street in Bayfield, Wisconsin. He had married for the first time 44 years prior. Daughter Mary Chape lived 2 houses away on Sixth Street with her son Donald Chape, 13 and mother-in-law, Martha Chape, 74.

Misc. Notes
On 21 January 1890, Anna's first husband, Monrad Mikelson died in Melsomvik, Norway, leaving Anna with four young girls to raise: Klara (b. 1880), Christine (b. 1885), Agnetta (b. 1887), and Marta (b. 1888). Monrad's brother Peter owned a farm in the Township of Russell, near Bayfield, Wisconsin, and told his sister-in-law Anna to bring the girls to Bayfield and he would help them. Anna and her four girls immigrated to Bayfield in 1894.
®9883 Anna worked at a boarding house in Roy's Point, near the Township of Russell, and later, on 2 September 1896, married the owner John A. Brown. Anna became a naturalized citizen in 1897.
®9883. Daughter Klara married Andrew J. Peterson on 22 August 1896.
®9899 The three single Mikelson girls helped at the boarding house as they got older. John and Anna had a daughter of their own, named Mary Brown (b. 1897).
