®9924 He and Mary Brown had one child, Donald “Chum” Elton Chape. Clarence was an engineer on commercial fishing boats and also worked for Booth Fisheries located in Bayfield. Eventually Clarence and Mary’s marriage ended in divorce. Clarence remarried to Pearl C., who was born in 1896 and died in 1935. Clarence and Pearl had no children.

Robert was Mary’s second husband. According to family verbal history, Mary met Robert in the Bayfield
area, and moved to Chicago with him. Supposedly, he died of a heart attack while working in his store in Chicago.
