Mr. and Mrs. Noack were married in Wilberforce Township and lived for several years on a farm in Stafford. They have kept store at Shady Nook for the past 12 years.14

PEMBROKE, June 23
... The store of Wm. Noack and Son at Shady Nook, four miles south of Pembroke, was broken into during the night and about $10 wasstolen from the till, along with a few packages of cigarets and some pipe tobacco.

Wm. Layman's blacksmith shop across the road also was entereed and an iron bar taken. The bar, however, was not used toforce the door of the store, which was entered by breaking a window at the bck of the building.

Mr. Layman discovered early this morning that his shop had been entered and told Mr. Noack, who then found he, too, had been robbed.

The robberies are being investigated by Provincial Constable E. V. McNeill.17

     In the obituary of John Noack who died 22 November 1945, his brother, William Noack was listed as a survivor.18

John Noack Dies In Ottawa at 73
     A former C.P.R. engineer and resident of Ottawa since 1900, John Noack, of 12 Melrose avenue, died last night at the age of 73.
     Mr. Noack was a native of Stafford township, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Christian Noack. He came to live in Ottawa early in 1900, and was an employe (sic) of the Canadian Pacific Railway until his retirement in 1937.
     Mr. Noack was a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Firemen and Engineers, No. 172. He attended St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
     Surviving are his widow, the former Marie Kritsch, two brothers, William and Henry of Shady Nook, and three sisters, Mrs. Edward Radke, Miss Annie Noack and Mrs. Oscar Brisenthal (sic), all of Pembroke.
     Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Hulse and Playfair Ltd., on Saturday at 2:30 o'clock, with Rev. M. J. Michael officiating. The body will then be taken to Pembroke and will be at the home of his brother, Henry, until Sunday afternoon. A service will be conducted by Rev. George Herbst in Grave Lutheran Church, Locksley. Interment will be in Locksley cemetery.9
