Mrs. Laura J. McMurchy, age 89, a resident of the South Grove community the greater part of her life, passed away last evening at the Glidden Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient for two days.
Mrs. McMurchy would have been 90 years of age on February 6 of next year and had been making her home with a son, Charles McMurchy, of South Grove. She was born February 6, 1854 in Kingston Township, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Raymond. She was married to Dan McMurchy in 1878, her husband preceding her in death several years ago.
Surviving to mourn the death are three children, Frank McMurchy of DeKalb, Mrs. Eva Clegg of Chicago and Charles McMurchy. One daughter also preceded her mother in death.
Funeral services will be held on Friday afternoon from the Wirtz Funeral home and interment will be in the South Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from Thursday evening until the time of the service.3
