Memorial Service
DELISLE,--A memorial service was held Sunday, March 12, in Avondale Baptist Church for P.O. M, A. Martin, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Martin of Delisle, who was killed while on active service in Britain with the R.C.A.F.
The service was conducted by Rev, H. G. Jorgenson, who with Arthur Wellwood, spoke regarding the excellent character of the late Pilot Officer Martin.

P.O. MAURICE MARTIN
of the Avondale district near Delisle, was killed in a recent flying accident while on active service in Britain. Pilot Officer Martin and his crew perished when the plane in which they were on a training flight crashed a few miles from the take-off.
Maurice Martin was born in the Delisle district on April 18, 1920, and received his schooling in the Avondale Public School and Delisle High School. He enlisted In Saskatoon in April, 1941, and was sent to manning depot at Brandon, from where he was stationed to Edmonton for his initial and final training as a navigator.
