     Josiah Witter was born in 1640.¹ He married first Elizabeth Wheeler, daughter of Thomas Wheeler, on 25 February 1661/62 in Lynn, Essex Co., Massachusetts.¹ He married second Sarah Crandall, daughter of John Crandall, in 1676.¹ He died in 1685.¹

     Peter Button was born in 1660.¹ He married Sarah Crandall, daughter of John Crandall, about 1687.¹

     John Witter was born on 11 March 1677/78 in Stonington, New London Co., Connecticut.² He married first Sarah Tefft, daughter of Samuel Tefft and Elizabeth Jencks, about 1703.² He married second Mary (?).² He died after 1757. The Crandall genealogy says he died in 1725, but later in the same paragraph says he was 80 years old in 1757. Based on the birth date of his last child Martha, it appears that the 1725 date is wrong.²
     He and his first wife Sarah had the following known children, probably born in Westerly, Providence Co., Rhode Island: Esther (b November 1705), Elizabeth (b 10 February 1706), Josiah (probably d young), John (probably d young), Samuel (probably d young), Ebenezer (probably d young), Hannah (b 20 January 1713), Joseph (b 4 April 1716), Sarah (b 20 November 1717), John (b 1718 or 1719).² He and his second wife Mary had the following known children: Abigail (d young), Mary (b May 1722), Abigail, William (probably d young), Martha (b 11 July 1727).²

     Sarah Witter was born on 7 February 1679.²

     Hannah Witter was born on 17 March 1681 (or 17 May 1681) in Lynn, Essex Co., Massachusetts.² She married Thomas Park on 5 November 1703.²

     Abigail Witter was born on 14 August 1684 in Stonington, New London Co., Connecticut.² She married John Freeman, son of Joseph Freeman and Dorothy Hayes, on 6 February 1706.² She died in 1725.²
     She and John had the following known children, born in Preston and Guilford, Connecticut: Dorothy (b 31 March 1709, d 1745), Elizabeth (b 27 October 1710), John (b 16 December 1712), Ebenezer (b 1714), James (b 1716), Abigail (b 1718/19), Sarah (b 14 December 1724).²

     Thomas Park was born in 1676.¹ He married Hannah Witter, daughter of Josiah Witter and Sarah Crandall, on 5 November 1703.¹

     John Freeman was born on 16 March 1680.¹ He married Abigail Witter, daughter of Josiah Witter and Sarah Crandall, on 6 February 1706.¹
     He and Abigail had the following known children, born in Preston and Guilford, Connecticut: Dorothy (b 31 March 1709, d 1745), Elizabeth (b 27 October 1710), John (b 16 December 1712), Ebenezer (b 1714), James (b 1716), Abigail (b 1718/19), Sarah (b 14 December 1724).¹
