     Samuel Hinckley was born on 14 February 1652/53 in Barnstable, New Plymouth Colony.2,1 He was baptized on 20 February 1652/53 in Barnstable, New Plymouth Colony.2 He married Sarah Pope, daughter of Thomas Pope and Sarah Jenny, on 13 November 1676 in Barnstable, New Plymouth Colony.2,1 He died on 19 March 1696/97 in Barnstable, Barnstable Co., Massachusetts, at age 44.2
     He lived at the "Timber Lands," property in West Barnstable, New Plymouth Colony, that had been given to him by his father.2 His will was dated 12 March 1696/97, and proved on 13 April 1697. He left half of his estate to his wife Sarah, and half to his oldest son Thomas.2
     He and Sarah had the following known children: Mary (b 22 July 1678, d 7 March 1741), Mehitable (b 28 December 1679, d 30 April 1718), Thomas (b 19 March 1680/81, d bef 4 October 1710), Seth (b 16 April 1683, d bef 5 August 1711), Samuel (b 24 September 1684, d January 1760), Elnathan (b 8 September 1686, d bef 29 December 1698), Job (b 16 February 1687/88, d 4 July 1753), Shubael (b 1 May 1690, d aft 23 November 1766), Mercy (b 11 January 1692/93, d 3 September 1735), Josiah (b 24 January 1694/95), Elnathan (b 29 December 1698).2

     Joseph Lord married Abigail Hinckley, daughter of Thomas Hinckley and Mary Smith.1
