The Morse genealogy says Mary (Morse) Emerson died 27 August 1747, but lists four children born after that date. Either her death date is wrong, or the additional children are Richard Emerson's from a second marriage.1 She and Richard had (at least) the following known children: Richard (b 20 December 1739), Mary (b 26 July 1741, d 23 August 1741), Sarah (b 7 October 1742), Mary (b 22 September 1744), Nathaniel (b 19 April 1746). Other children, possibly from a second wife of Richard Emerson, are Asa (b 25 February 1747/48), Jonathan (b 30 January 1749/50), Hannah (b 13 February 1752), and Moses (b 25 April 1754, d 25 October 1754).1
