Lowell A. Walker1

     Lowell A. Walker was born on 4 March 1905 in Indiana.2 He married first Lottie Flory about 1925.1 He married second Ellen G. (?) (license dated August 1959) in St. Joseph Co., Indiana.3 He died on 5 October 1967 in Inwood, Marshall Co., Indiana, at age 62 from a heart attack.2 He was buried on 8 October 1967 at Stony Point Cemetery in Clunette, Kosciusko Co., Indiana.2,4
     He and his wife Lottie adopted Edward Towne, biological son of Edward Pontarelli and Ione Elizabeth Town, shortly after his birth in 1929, and his name was changed to Nelson Edward Walker.5 In the 1930 census Nelson is listed with them as a lodger, at age 1.1 The adoption and name change became official on 27 January 19316, and Nelson is listed as their son in the 1940 and 1950 censuses.7,8
     Lowell and Lottie owned a farm in Scott Twp., Kosciusko Co., from at least 1930 to 19351,7, but they lost the farm during the Great Depression.9 Lowell was still listed as a farmer in the 1940 census, but they were then renting a farm in Seward Twp., Kosciusko Co.7 They later moved to Inwood, Marshall Co., Indiana,9 where he worked in construction.9 They are listed in Seward Twp., Marshall Co., in the 1950 census8, and he was then unemployed.8

     Lottie Flory was born on 28 August 1905 in Indiana.2 She married Lowell A. Walker about 1925.1 She died on 7 July 1957 in Plymouth, Marshall Co., Indiana, at age 51 from leukemia.2 She was buried on 10 July 1957 at Stony Point Cemetery in Clunette, Kosciusko Co., Indiana.2,3
