Prince Karl Wilhelm Ludwig (of Hesse) was born on 23 April 1809 in Darmstadt, Starkenburg, Hesse-Darmstadt.1 He was the son of Grand Duke Ludwig II (of Hesse) and Princess Wilhelmine Luise (of Baden).1 Prince Karl Wilhelm Ludwig (of Hesse) was christened on 24 May 1809 in Darmstadt, Starkenburg, Hesse-Darmstadt.1 He married Elizabeth (of Prussia).1 Prince Karl Wilhelm Ludwig (of Hesse) died on 20 March 1877 in Darmstadt, Starkenburg, Hesse-Darmstadt, at age 67.1 He was buried on 24 March 1877 at Rosenhohe Mausoleum Bei Darmstadt, Starkenburg, Hesse-Darmstadt.1
