Princess Charlotte Sofie (of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld) was born on 24 September 1731 in Coburg, Saxe-Coburg-Gotha, Thuringia.1 She married Prince Ludwig (of Mecklenburg-Schwerin) on 13 May 1755 in Schwerin, Mecklenburg-Schwerin, Germany.1 Princess Charlotte Sofie (of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld) died on 2 August 1810 in Schwerin, Mecklenburg-Schwerin, Germany, at age 78.1 She was buried in Schwerin, Mecklenburg-Schwerin, Germany.1
She became the mother of Grand Duke Friedrich Franz I (of Mecklenburg Schwerin) on 10 December 1756.1 Princess Charlotte Sofie (of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld) became the mother of Princess Sofie Friederike (of Mecklenburg-Schwerin) on 24 August 1758.1 Charlotte Sofie's daughter was married at wedding of Princess Sofie Friederike (of Mecklenburg-Schwerin) and Prince Frederik (of Denmark & Norway) in 1774.1 Princess Charlotte Sofie (of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld) became a widow with the death of her husband, Prince Ludwig (of Mecklenburg-Schwerin) on 12 September 1778 in Schwerin, Mecklenburg-Schwerin, Germany, at age 53.1 Charlotte Sofie's daughter Princess Sofie Friederike (of Mecklenburg-Schwerin) died on 29 November 1794 in Sorgenfri, Copenhagen, Denmark.1
