Adelaide Hickcox was born on 25 August 1892. She was the daughter of Edward Hickcox and Margaretta VanDerveer. Adelaide Hickcox married William Hoyt, son of Eli Hoyt Jr and Sarah Elizabeth Berry, on 19 June 1916 at 21 Monticello Ave, Jersey City, New Jersey. Adelaide Hickcox died on 29 November 1933 at age 41 survived by William Hoyt.
Adelaide Hickcox became the mother of Ruth Van Derveer Hoyt on 25 July 1922. As of about 1928, Adelaide Hickcox and William Hoyt lived 28 Warham St, Windsor, Hartford, Connecticut, with Ruth Van Derveer Hoyt and Margaretta VanDerveer.2

[:NBSP:]Windsor, Ct., Nov. 29 -- Mrs Adelaide Hickcox Hoyt, 41, principal of the Wareham school, and wife of William Hoyt, principal John Fitch High School of Windsor, died at the Hartford hospital tonight following an operation. Mrs Hoyt was born at Jercey City, N. J., August 25, 1892, and has lived at Windsor for 15 years.

[:NBSP:]She was head of the kindergarten department of the church school of the First Congregational church and a member of the Women's club of that church. Besides her husband, she leaves a daughter Ruth, and her mother, Mrs Edward Walden Hickcox. The funeral will be held at the First Congregational church Sarurday afternoon at 2:30.
