Joseph Doty was born on 30 April 1651 in Plymouth, (now Plymouth County), New Plymouth Colony.1 He was the son of Pilgrim Edward Doty and Faith Clarke. Joseph Doty married first Deborah Ellis, daughter of John Elis and Elizabeth Freeman, Mid Summer 1674 in Sandwich, Barnstable County, Massachusetts.2,1 Joseph Doty married second Sarah Woodin, daughter of John Woodin and Mary Johnson, on 5 March 1711/12.2 Joseph Doty died about 1732 in Rochester, Plymouth County, Massachusetts.1 He is also reported to have died on 2 November in Rochester, Plymouth County, Massachusetts.3
