Martha Wayles was born on 30 October 1748 in Charles City County, Virginia.¹ She married President Thomas Jefferson, son of Peter Jefferson and Jane Randolph, in January 1772 in The Forest, Charles City County, Virginia.¹ Martha Wayles died on 6 September 1782 at Monticello, Charlottesville, Albemarle County, Virginia, at age 33.¹ She was buried at Monticello, Charlottesville, Albemarle County, Virginia.¹
