Jennie May Sloan was born on 16 January 1874.1 She was the daughter of Joseph Sloan and Jessie Small.1 Jennie May Sloan married Walter Nathanial Derby, son of Alvin Hovey Derby and Catherine Elizabeth May.1 Jennie May Sloan married Herbert Foster Derby, son of Alvin Hovey Derby and Catherine Elizabeth May, after 26 February 1926.1 Jennie May Sloan died on 7 July 1964 at age 90.1
She became the mother of Mildred Vell Derby on 20 December 1895.1 As of June 1896, Jennie May Sloan and Walter Nathanial Derby lived at Webb Farm with Mildred Vell Derby; To care for his first in-laws and to inherit the farm (now the Bent's.)1 Jennie May's father Joseph Sloan died on 23 March 1932.1 Jennie May Sloan became a widow with the death of her husband, Herbert Foster Derby on 28 December 1958 at age 89.1
