BILLERICA -- Harold K. Elliott, of Billerica, formerly of Winchester, died, unexpectedly, Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at Lahey Clinic in Burlington.
He was the beloved husband of the late Mildred "Betty" (Tuttle) Elliott, to whom he was married for 48 years.
Born in Winchester, February 22, 1923, he was the son of the late Harold K. and Helen (Greeley) Elliott.
He served during WWII in the Army with Troop E 25th Cavalry Mechanized Reconnaissance Squadron. He drove a tank under the leadership of General George S. Patton.
When he returned home from the service, he started out building homes with his relatives in the Winchester area; he later worked as a carpenter, first for RCA and later for General Electric.
He loved the outdoors, especially fishing, which he was able to do out in the back of his home. He was a member of the New England Carpenters Union, The American Legion, North American Fishing Club, and the RCA Retiree's Club.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Elsa A. Elliott and Michael F. Booth of Chelmsford; his brother and sister-in-law, George and Susan Elliott of Portsmouth, NH; and his sister, Helen Price of Colorado. He is also survived by his nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
