Biography | Roger lives at 23 Knowsley Road, Hoole Chester, CH2 3RL. He became a freeman of the City of Chester on 21 April 1961, when he was described as a clerk of 19 Vicarage Road. Richard James Snelson visited Roger on Saturday 15 April 1989 and relates that he worked for Ellesmere Port local authority. He was an only child and now the last of the line, because his Uncle Hubert who married Elsie Unknown did not have any children. In later life, Hubert became a bit of a recluse according to Roger. My theory is that the Sir Edward Snelson who married Greer Garson was the son of Thomas Snelson who was in fact Thomas Edward Snelson, son of Edward Snelson, the cordwainer born 1 January 1822, father of Robert the Hay Dealer ..... hence Roger could well have known him as " Uncle Tom " - even though he was his grandnephew.
