Name | Katheryn Snelsonne was also known as Catherine Higginbotham. |
Biography | There is no direct evidence that I can find that proves that Catherine is the sister of Roger Snelson #4878, however as she married around the same time as Roger in the same church, and as Roger mentions a Catherine in his Will, and that she is married to Philip Higginbothom who is also a dyer like Roger, I think she is either his sister or Roger's cousin. I guess she could be his daughter, but that is a long shot. |
Reference Number | She had reference number 3126. |
Birth | She was born about 1580. As she was married in 1605, on the basis that she might have been aged about 25 years old, I have as a long shot estimated her birth to be about 1580. |

Courtcase | Edward Snelson; June 1621; Harberte v Colman and others ... a whole load of Malvernians and Edward S gang up against Edmund Habarde and demolish his pub sign, the Kings Arms, newly erected, claiming that he was trading without a license.
Then, there are two images here, the manuscript shows Edward Snelson's name and that he comes from Strensham.
Edward in 1621 was not living in Malvern but in Strensham, Worcs. He is on the list of names of people that Edmund Harberte claims conspired and removed his pub sign.
Note ... this is the same Edmunde Harberte who later marries Grace Snelson, (nee Richards) widow of Raffe Snelson. Their son Edmund/Edward is the same who is married to Sarah Colman - possibly the daughter of the leading defendant, Colman.1 |
