Probate	Probate was granted to the estate of Elizabeth Jane Davies on 30 August 1917 in Chester She left everything (GBP345 6s 5d) to William Edward Davies [24552], butler who might also be the executor. This William Edward Davies is indeed a butler, and he is the son of Samuel Davies and his wife Jane ... and he is indeed the butler at the Palatine Club in Eastgate Row, Chester. So, as Samuel and Jane Davies are the parents of Elizabeth Jane Davis - then Elizabeth Jane Davies and William Edward Davies are brother and sister.3

It also says that Elizabeth a.5 is just plain Elizabeth Davies and she has a sister called Jane ... so there is siomething amiss here. Samuel Davies is said to be a clay pipe maker.
