He served during King Philip's War.2 He served as selectman in Manchester, Essex Co., Massachusetts, in 1687-88, 1691, 1694, 1696, 1698, and 1700-1705.2 On 5 December 1715 he was appointed to a committee in Manchester to choose a minister for the church.2 In 1690 he and his brother Samuel petitioned the town to be spared the expense of supporting the church.3
He and his first wife Sarah had two known children, both born in Manchester, Essex Co., Massachusetts: Sarah (b 1680) and Robert (b 1682/83).2 He and his second wife Hannah had the following known children, all born in Manchester, Essex Co., Massachusetts: Hannah (b 1685), John (b 1687/88), Mary (b 1690/91), Elizabeth (b 1692/93, d 4 October 1713), Joseph (b 1694), Ann (b 23 May 1696), Paul (b 1698), Charles (b 7 October 1702).2

He was a planter in Manchester, Essex Co., Massachusetts.2 He served as selectman in 1681, 1682, 1686, and 1690. Also in 1690, he served on a committee charged with alloting the shared common lands.2 In 1690 he and his brother Robert petitioned the town to be spared the expense of supporting the church.2 His estate was valued at £695.2
He and his first wife Arabella had two known children, both born in Manchester, Essex Co., Massachusetts: Penlope (b 26 September 1678) and Catherine (b 1680).2 He and his second wife Hannah had the following known children, all born in Manchester, Essex Co., Massachusetts: Samuel (b 1682), Hannah (b 26 August 1686), Richard (b 1690), Benjamin (b 14 February 1692).2
