It should be noted that the Lovejoy genealogy includes a marriage between John Russ and Deborah Osgood on 28 August 1663, the same date that the article from the 1859 New England Historical and Genealogical Register assigns to the marriage of John Ross and Deborah Osgood. The Lovejoy genealogy lists Deborah's parents as John and Sarah Osgood, John Russ's parents as John and Margaret Russ, and John Russ Sr.'s death date as 4 March 1692. The NEHGR article lists Deborah's parents as Christopher and Margery (Fowler) Osgood, and John Ross's death date as 4 March 1692. It seems likely that John Ross and John Russ, who married Deborah Osgood, are the same person, and that at least some of the information on John and Deborah's parents is wrong.3,1
