After their marriage, she and her husband Charles lived on the Dunham family farm in Eaton Co., Michigan.1 They moved to Maple Grove Twp., Barry Co., Michigan, on 25 April 1853.1
She and Charles had three children by birth, Peter O. (b 3 August 1846), Esther (b 29 June 1848), and Matthew H. (b 3 August 1861), and two by adoption, Evey L. (adopted February 1863) and Charles E. (adopted February 1880).1

He moved to Michigan with his parents in 18371, where he worked as a farmer and painter, mostly in Jackson and Kalamazoo Cos.1 In 1841, with his brother Casper, he bought land in section 30 of Eaton Co., Michigan,1 where the family moved on Christmas Day of 1844.1
After their marriage, he and his wife Catharine lived on the family farm in Eaton Co.1 They moved to Maple Grove Twp., Barry Co., Michigan, on 25 April 1853.1 He was a longtime member of the Odd-Fellows and Masonic orders.1

She was a teacher at Walther Lutheran High School in Melrose Park, Cook Co., Illinois.1 She and her first husband Jon lived in Willow Springs, Cook Co., Illinois.4

She attended the Lutheran Bible Institute in Minneapolis, Hennepin Co., Minnesota, then Augustana College in Rock Island, Rock Island Co., Illinois.1
She and her husband Ernest lived in Des Plaines, Cook Co., Illinois, from 1961 to 1966.1
Between 1964 and 1980 she took in over 125 foster children, mostly infants. She also served as a church parish worker, choir director, secretary, and organist.1

He graduated from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. He was a landscape architect, and was involved in the design of several projects in and around Rockford, Winnebago Co., Illinois, including the Millennium Fountain, Davis Park, the Sinisssippi Bike Path, the floral clock, and the Sportscore.3
