She graduated from Moline High School in Moline, Rock Island Co., Illinois, and from the Moline Public Hospital School of Nursing. At the time of her marriage in 1960 she was working at a pediatric clinic in Waukesha, Waukesha Co., Wisconsin.1

She lived in Waukesha, Waukesha Co., Wisconsin, for most of her life2, and was a nurse at Waukesha Memorial Hospital for 25 years.2 She moved to Ames, Story Co., Iowa, about 2013, to live with her with daughter's family.2
