Gregory Bickforde married Jane Marche, daughter of William Marche the Elder, before 29 April 1612.1 He died between 3 July 1630 and 22 September 1630.1
He was a yeoman in Rattery, Devon, England.1 He and his brother John owned land together in Rattery.1
His will was dated 3 July 1630 and proved 17 December 1630. His wife Jane was named executrix, his son-in-law Allan Benfeild and cousin Richard Marten were named overseers, and John Knight, John Rowland, and Late [?] Martyn were witnesses. He left 40s to the poor of Rattery, 10s to the poor of Modbury, and 20s to the minister for his funeral. He left £100 to be divided between his grandchildren Allan and Joane Benfield (or Belfield), for procuring them an estate "for their lives." An additional £100 was to be divided between his grandchildren Margarett and Joane Benfeild. His grandson Allan Benfield was also to receive half the household goods from his house at Knowle after the death of wife Jane Bickforde. In addition, if Allan Benfield the Elder (Gregory Bickforde's son-in-law) made his son Allan Benfield his sole heir to his land, then Allan Benfield the Younger was to receive "the whole living and means in Modbury" after the death of Jane Bickforde. He also left 5s to each of his household servants, except for Mary Marche (most likely one of his wife's relatives) who was to receive 10s. His estate was inventoried on 22 September 1630, and included money, clothing, and livestock, plus leases on lands and tenements in Rattery and Modbury. The estate was valued at £1236 9s 2d.1
