Samuel Sherman was born in 1648 in Portsmouth, Newport County, Rhode Island.1 He was the son of Philip Sherman and Sarah Odding.1 Samuel Sherman married Martha Tripp, daughter of John Tripp and Mary Paine, on 23 February 1680/81 in Portsmouth, Newport County, Rhode Island.1 Samuel Sherman died on 9 October 1717 in Portsmouth, Newport County, Rhode Island.2
