John Tompson was born on 17 June 1616 in England.1 He married Mary Cooke, daughter of Pilgrim Francis Cooke and Hester Mahieu, on 26 December 1645 in Plymouth, (now Plymouth County), New Plymouth Colony.1 John Tompson died on 16 June 1696 in Middleboro, Plymouth County, Massachusetts, at age 79.1
The Ancestral File has two Mary's but the date and place of birth, and date of
death differ but they have her married to the same man.2 He became the father of Adam Tomson before 26 September 1646. John's son Adam Tomson died about 1648.1 John Tompson became the father of John Tomson in 1648.1 John's son John Tomson died on 11 February 1648/49.1 John Tompson became the father of John Tomson on 24 November 1649.1 John Tompson became the father of Mary Tomson about 1651.1 John Tompson became the father of Esther Tomson on 28 July 1652.1 John Tompson became the father of Elizabeth Tomson on 28 January 1653/54.1 John Tompson became the father of Sarah Tomson on 4 April 1657.1 John Tompson became the father of Lydia Tomson on 5 October 1659.1 John Tompson became the father of Jacob Tomson on 24 April 1662.1 John Tompson became the father of Thomas Tomson on 19 October 1664.1 John Tompson became the father of Peter Tomson between 1666 and 1669.1 John Tompson became the father of Mercy Tomson on 20 April 1671.1 John's daughter was married at wedding of Mary Tomson and Thomas Taber on 16 June 1672 in Dartmouth, (now Bristol County), New Plymouth Colony.3,4
