Zerubbabel (1 Chron 3) is listed in 1 Chronicles 3:19 as the son of Pedaiah (1 Chron 3) but everywhere else as the son of Shealtiel (1 Chron 3). Shealtiel, the first son of King Jehoiachin of Judah has no sons lised in 1 Chronicles 3, so perhaps died without heir, so Pedaiah assumed his family line, and so Zerubbabel is biologically son of Pedaiah but "legally" son of Shealtiel.
