Traver occurred at his late home on September 29, 1915 Captain Tracer, as he wa s familiarly called by his acquaintances and friends, was bom in the town of Hurley. Ulster county. N. Y. . Septembe r 4. 1830. During his boyhood days, he resided at Lyons and Seneca Falls. The greater part ot his lifetime was spent as a boatman on the Hudson river. tbe canals and inland lakes of this state . He started in on the old original Erie canal, before the first enlargement, and it was there that he wa s given the title of Captain Mr. Traver located in Weedsport about 46 year s ago.....The deceased i* survied by four children. Mrs. John Ross, William A ,I Jack, and Edward L. Traver. all of this town, besides thirteen grandchildren and four great- grandchildren.
