Sturdy Speaks at Asquith Service
ASQUITH
Empire Youth Sunday was observed in Asquith when representatives of the local and surreounding school districts, gathered at a mass service held in Memorial Hall at which J.H. Sturdy, secretary of the Saskatchewan Teachers' Federation, was special guest speaker. Harvey Summach was chairman, and Miss Verla Forsyth presided at the piano. The service was arranged and drafted by members of the Asquith Teachers' Local and a large attendance proved its popularity. Prayers were offered by Mr. Wardlow, student in charge of St. George's Anglican Church, and Scripture reading was given by Mrs. Crane of the Pentecostal Mission. The Asquith Company of Girl Guides, in uniform, formed a choir singing the anthem, and a duet was sung by Iris and Eileen Johnson. A. Rumbelow took charge of the musical part of the service. Speaking as a returned soldier who had seen service in the First Great War, Mr. Sturdy described the present conflict as amonstrous insult thrown in the face of the Prince of Peace. The only weapon to use against totalitarian ideolgies, he said, is education, for such things can only spread in an environment of ignorance.23

FELSKE - SUMMACH
At the home of the bride's parents, the marriage ceremony was performed of Della Laura, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. Summach, Asquith, and William Felske, son of Mr. and Mrs. G. Felske of Nokomis. Mr. George Campbell officiated.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, entered to wedding music played by Miss Olga Felske of Regina. She wore white silk and shoulder-length veil, held in place by a wreath of orange blossoms. She carried a bouquet of American red roses.
Miss Loris Summach was her sister's only attendant, wearing romance blue sheer with cap effect veil and her bouquet was of red carnations and dahlias. The groom was attended by his brother, Gordon Felske of the R.C.A.F. stationed at Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. Following the ceremony a wedding supper was served at the home of the bride's parents.
The happy couple left later for Banff, and will be at home to their friends at Nokomis early in July.3
