He was named administrator of his father's estate on 22 March 1608/9, and posted a bond for the tuition of his siblings "Margaret, Edward, Anne [Agnes], Sarah, Francis, William, Lucy [Luke], Elizabeth, and James [Jacob], 'the other children'".1
His own will was dated 12 November 1655 and proved 10 February 1658/59. The executors were his son Francis and son-in-law Nicholas Hanslope. The overseer was Thomas Marriott. He left £10 to his wife Elizabeth, plus a "joined bed in the chamber over the old parlor." His son Francis also received £10, and Francis' son Francis received 30s. His daughters Anne Hanslope and Marie Bromwich each were left £5, and each of their sons and daughters were to receive 30s at age 21. The children of his deceased son Henry were to receive whatever the executors thought necessary to raise them. His carts and plows, etc., were left to Henry's son Thomas, provided he help the executors raise his brothers and sisters. He also left 20s to the poor of Hillmorton. Whatever remained was to go to his executors. A codicil dated October 1658 redirected the £5 that had been left to his daughter Anne Hanslope to her children, as she had died.1
