He was a mason.2 He served as tythingman in 1732/33 and constable in 1733/34 in Topsfield, Essex Co., Massachusetts.2
On 18 Sep 1738 his brother Timothy and sisters Abigail Dwinell, Esther Perkins, and Elizabeth Perkins sold their rights to their father's estate to him and his brother John for £72 11s. He and John had previously paid their father's debts and funeral expenses. That same day he and Timothy filed quitclaims transferring their rights to many pieces of their father's property to John. On 9 Nov 1738 Timothy and John filed a similar quitclaim to him.2
He bought 3 1/2 acres of land in Topsfield from Daniel Reddington on 11 July 1738.2 On 15 November 1738 he and his brother John sold 10-11 acres of land, south of the Ipswich River, to Dr. Richard Dexter of Topsfield.2 The next day he and his wife Elizabeth deeded an acre of woodland to Dr. Dexter.2
He died intestate, and his widow was appointed administrator of his estate on 17 July 1749. The estate was valued at £662, including £530 in real estate. A committee was named by the court to divide the real estate. After reserving 1/3 of it for the widow's dower, the remaining 2/3 was found to be impractical to split up. A document dated 28 October 1751 and approved by the court on 24 February 1752 gave the land to David Perkins, his oldest living son, who was to pay £21 0s 8p and 3 farthings to his siblings Jonathan, Hannah, Judith, Abigail, Dudley, Philemon, and Sarah. The final settlement of the deed was not made until after their mother died in 1772.2
He and his second wife Elizabeth had the following known children: Jonathan (b 1 January 1723/24, d 31 May 1729), David (b 26 December 1725, d 21 April 1803), Hannah (b 16 January 1727/28), Jonathan (b 3 March 1730), Judith (b 21 June 1732), Abigail (b 20 December 1734), Dudley (b 8 September 1737, d 1758), Philemon (b 8 June 1740), Sarah (b 20 September 1743).2

She was named in the will of her great-aunt Mary Howlett, dated 16 April 1719 and proved 5 Aug 1728, with whom she had lived for several years. She was to receive a share of what remained of the estate after the specific bequests were satisfied. He lived in Salem Village, Essex Co., Massachusetts, but his family had close ties with neighboring Topsfield and the church there.1
At the occasion of his marriage to Judith Dorman, his father built him a house on the southern part of the Downing farm.1 In his father's will, dated 15 July 1713 and proved 17 Jan 1714/15, he was left the house and land where he was then living, plus 110 acres. He and his brothers Joseph, Nathaniel, and William were also left their father's land at Skelton's Neck, to be divided equally, as well as his clothing and indoor property.2,3 In 1722 he gave his sons Eleaxor and Samuel half of his house and farm, and built a new house about 800 feet to the south.1 On 8 September 1737 he deeded this new house to Samuel.1 Nine months later, on 8 June 1738, he deeded the rest of the old house and 86 acres, plus 11 acres at Skelton's Neck, to Eleazor.1
His will was dated 28 November 1744, and proved 24 April 1749. His wife Love was named executrix, and was left the property she had with her at the time of their marriage, his house, half of his cattle and provisions, and a brass kettle. The rest of his estate was to be divided between his children Eleazor, Samuel, Hannah, Mary, Elizabeth, Hepsibah, and Jerusha.1 The inventory of his estate included "one Negro man" valued at £25, perhaps the Robin mentioned in his father's will.1

The link between Henry Perkyns and his son Thomas may be somewhat questionable. Although Henry Perkyns' will cannot now be found, an abstract made in or before 1894 says that "Thomas Perkyns, the son, is mentioned." A more recent abstract does not mention Thomas, however.2
Thomas Perkyns's own will was dated 15 September 1588 in Hillmorton, Warwickshire, England, and proved on 11 May 1592. His son Henry was named executor. In his will, he asked to be buried in the parish churchyard, and left 10s to the poor. He also left each of his godchildren 6d. To his son John and his male heirs he left his house, barn, and other buildings, plus an orchard, a close (farmyard), "one back-side of the tenement and one half-yard of arable land with meadows, pastures, and commons thereto belonging." "Successive remainders" were left to his son Edward and his male heirs, and to his son Luke and his male heirs. A "final remainder" was left to his "own right heirs." His wife Alice received all the household stuff, their bedroom furniture, and the use of their bedroom for as long as she remained a widow. He also left: to his sons William and Thomas, 10s each; to his son Edward, £40 four years after his death; to his son Luke, £40 six years after his death; and to his son Isaac, £40 ten years after his death. Each of his sons' children received a ewe and a lamb, as did his "brother Kebble's wife" and his brother William Perkyns. Thomas Kebble was left a lamb. Whatever remained, including the rest of his houses and lands, was to go to his oldest son Henry.1

Her surname may have been Kebble, as her husband's will names his "brother Kebble's wife."1 In her husband's will, dated 15 September 1588 and proved on 11 May 1592, she was left all the household stuff, their bedroom furniture, and the use of their bedroom for as long as she remained a widow.1 She was also left a legacy in her son John's will, dated 17 December 1601 and proved on 6 Jun 1601/02 (sic).1
