He was a mariner, and later a joiner.2
On 9 July 1728 he sold three acres of salt marsh at Plumb Island to Thomas Smith for £40.3 On 7 March 1732/33 he sold one acre in Newbury, Essex Co., Massachusetts, to Thomas Titcomb for £20.4 On 10 January 1734/35 he bought from his brother Amos, for £40, a tract of land "at a place called Ox Plantation, on S. side of Merrimack River, adjoining town of Rumford," plus "home-lot No. 23, and interval lot No. 83."5 On 1 December 1735 he bought part of Long Wharf in Newbury, along with half of a warehouse on the wharf, from Abraham Edwards for £50.6
His widow Elizabeth was appointed administrator of his estate on 25 February 1739.7
He and Elizabeth had the following known children: Anthony (b 12 May 1724), Joseph (bapt 1 October 1727, d young), Joseph (b 24 February 1729), Edmund (b 27 August 1731), Elizabeth (bapt 29 December 1734, d young), Elizabeth (b January 1735 (1735/36?), d 29 June 1810).2

On 4 June 1742 Moses Stickney bought 2 acres and 78 rods of pasture in Newbury, Essex Co., Massachusetts, from Daniel Noyes, Jr., for £50.3 On 11 September 1746 he bought two more acres of land in Newbury, with a house and barn, from Richard Knight for £310.4
On 8 April 1766 he bought four acres in Newbury from his niece Mary and her husband Michael Pike for £30. Mary was the daughter of his brother Amos, and the land was her share of her father's estate.5 Two years later, on 4 April 1768, he bought nine acres in Newbury from his nephew John Stickney, Jr. (son of his brother Amos), and his wife Mary for £78.6
On 23 April 1783 he, his wife Lydia, and sons Richard and Amos, sold three tracts of pasture to Nathaniel Adams for £144.7
His will was dated 5 October 1773, and proved on 27 October 1788. His wife Lydia was to choose one of his two houses to live in, and received two cows, a horse and chaise (i.e., carriage), and his household goods. His son Richard was left his dwelling house, barn, and other buildings, with adjoining land. Richard also received half of his lands in Newbury, except for what was left to his son Amos, half of his farm tools, and half of his pews in the First Parish Meeting House in Newbury. His son Amos was left the house and barn where his son Richard was living, plus four acres of land. He also received half of his lands in Newbury, half of his farm tools, half of his pews, and all of his cattle except for the two cows left to his wife. His daughters Lydia and Mary each received £8, in addition to what they had already received, with Lydia's to be paid one year after his death, and Mary's to be paid two years after his death.8 The inventory of his estate was filed on 1 July 1790, and included real estate valued at £339 10s., and personal property valued at £345 6d.9
He and Lydia had the following known children: Jemima (b 19 March 1729, d young), Richard (b 26 June 1730), Lydia (b 24 March 1733), Amos (b 7 July 1735), Mary (b 24 July 1737, d 30 July 1786).2

On 5 March 1733/34 Amos Stickney quitclaimed his portion of the Little Pine Swamp in Newbury, Essex Co., Massachusetts, to co-owner John Titcomb.3 On 10 January 1734/35 he sold to his brother Amos, for £40, his rights to "a place called Ox Plantation, on S. side of Merrimack River and adjoining Town of Rumford," plus "home-lot No. 23, and interval lot No. 83."4 On 21 December 1737 he sold land in Newbury to Samuel and Eleazer Peirce for £9 15s.5 On 28 March 1741 he sold additional land in Newbury to Joseph Whittemore for £3.6 On 5 February 1754 he and his wife Mary sold 9 1/2 acres of woodland, lot No. 23, to William Pillsbury for £34.7
His son John was appointed administrator of his estate on 18 January 1762. The estate was valued at £495 2s 4d, and included 23 acres of land, with an old house and barn, plus cattle, silver and gold.8 On 15 April 1765 the estate was divided into three equal parts, with his son John receiving two, and his daughter Mary one.9
He and Mary had two known children, John (b 14 July 1740) and Mary (b 11 April 1744).2

He was impressed into service against the Indians by Gov. Andros in January 1688.2
He and his second wife Elizabeth were admitted to the First Church in Rowley, Essex Co., Massachusetts, on 9 June 1700.2 The area where they lived was incorporated as "The Falls" on 17 November 1706, and as Byfield in 1710. He and Elizabeth were dismissed to a new church in Byfield on 13 October 1706.2
On 5 December 1705 he bought 4 1/4 acres on the north side of Rye Plain in Rowley, Essex Co., Massachusetts, from John Luntt and his wife Ruth.4 On 10 May 1707 he bought 8 1/2 acres on Rye Plain from Sam'l Plats and his wife Mary.4 On 3 March 1710 he bought 10 acres of land and meadow in "new Ox pasture" from James Chute for £20 "and as an allowance to a former purchase short of what ye land was accounted."5
With his brother John he served in the militia under Capt. Thomas Noyes in response to an Indian attack on Haverhill on 29 August 1708.6
His will was dated 12 January 1716/17 and proved on 22 July 1717. He left all his estate to his "true and loving wife" until his son Amos reached age 21, at which point his real estate was to be divided between them. After his wife's death, Amos was to receive the other half of the estate. Amos was to pay £14 to his (Andrew's) daughter Rebecca, plus £7 to each of his other daughters at age 18, £4 to each of his sons at age 21 and £3 more within a year after his wife's death.7
His estate was inventoried on 6 March 1720, and included 29 acres of land worth £174, a house and other buildings worth £17, and personal property worth £46 10s.8

At age 21 Amos Stickney inherited half of his father's estate, with the other half reserced for his mother's use. He sold this land two years later, on 21 October 1723, to John Lull for £172. His mother retained her rights to the land for as long as she remained a widow, and 1/3 of it if she were to remarry.3 He then moved to Norwich, New London Co., Connecticut, where he was accepted by a town vote in 1725.2

On 28 August 1738 Andrew Stickney bought the 79th River Lot in Newbury, Essex Co., Massachusetts, from Daniel Noyes for £10.2
His widow Sarah was appointed administrator of his estate on 28 April 1746. The inventory, presented on 19 April 1746, included his house, lot, silver spoons, and books. Funeral charges for him and a child were 78s.3
