     Edward Heinrich Christian Hogrefe was born in May 1889 in Illinois.2 He was baptized in 1889 at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rodenberg (now Roselle), DuPage Co., Illinois.1 He married Wilhelminia Jeske, daughter of Edward Jeske and Augusta Kelur, about 1914.3,4 He died on 8 February 1954 in Ramsey Co., Minnesota, at age 64.5
     He and his wife Wilhelminia lived in St. Paul, Ramsey Co., Minnesota, at least from 1920 to 1930. Edward's mother Dorothy lived with them, and in 1930 Minnie's brother Gust Jeske was also living with them.4,3 Edward was a fireman in St. Paul.4,3

     Carl Ernst Diedrick Hogrefe was born in June 1881 in Proviso Twp., Cook Co., Illinois.4,1 He married Anna Katharina Sophia Hartje, daughter of Heinrich Hartje and Dorothea Hueners, on 21 December 1905 in Grant Twp., Buena Vista Co., Iowa.1
     He also went by the name Carl.5,3 In 1900 Carl Ernst Diedrick Hogrefe was living as a boarder in the household of George Speakman, next door to his parents' house in Bloomingdale Twp., DuPage Co., Illinois.4 He moved to Iowa about 1902.3 He and his wife Anna lived in Grant Twp., Buena Vista Co., Iowa, from at least 1910 to 1930.5,6,3,7

     Emma Maria Sophia Hogrefe was born in March 1886 in Illinois.3 She was baptized in 1886 at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rodenberg (now Roselle), DuPage Co., Illinois, and confirmed there in 1900.1,4 She married Edward C. Degner, son of Louie Degner and Dora Thieurman, on 4 May 1905 in Coon Twp., Buena Vista Co., Iowa.5 She died on 26 July 1925 in Webster Co., Iowa, at age 39.6
     In 1900 she was living as a servant in the household of Herman Wallener, next door to her parents' house in Bloomingdale Twp., DuPage Co., Illinois.3 In 1910 she and her husband Edward were living in Coon Twp., Buena Vista Co., Iowa. Living with them were Edward's mother Dora and sister Emeline, and a boarder, Fred Reincke.7 She and Edward were living in Storm Lake in Buena Vista Co. in 1920.8 They moved to Webster Co., Iowa, sometime before 1925.2
