     James Tharp was born on 10 February 1774 in Mispillion Hundred, Kent Co., Delaware.² He married Nicy Fleming, daughter of Beniah Fleming and Elizabeth Turner, on 18 January 1803 in Mispillion Hundred, Kent Co., Delaware.² He died on 23 September 1829 in Mispillion Hundred, Kent Co., Delaware, at age 55.² He was buried at the Tharp Family Cemetery in Farmington, Kent Co., Delaware.²

     Nicy Fleming was born on 10 April 1784 in Mispillion Hundred, Kent Co., Delaware.¹ She married James Tharp, son of William Tharp and Ruth Clark, on 18 January 1803 in Mispillion Hundred, Kent Co., Delaware.¹ She died on 15 September 1827 in Mispillion Hundred, Kent Co., Delaware, at age 43.¹ She was buried at Tharp Family Cemetery in Farmington, Kent Co., Delaware.¹

     Laban Tharp was born in 1766 in Maryland.² He married twice, but the name of his first wife is unknown.² He married second Mary Lane on 1 October 1833 in Wayne Co., Indiana.² He died in 1855 in Wayne Co., Indiana.²
     He lived in Guilford Co., North Carolina, from at least 1790 to 1820², and in Wayne Co., Indiana, from at least 1830 to 1850.² He is listed as having one slave in the 1800 and 1810 censuses.² He and his first wife had two known children, Nathan (b abt 1788, d bef 1855) and Sarah (b abt 1790).³

     Jerimiah Tharp was born about 1768.² He married Ursula Clark, daughter of Francis Clark and Christiana Stone, on 12 July 1786 in Guilford Co., North Carolina.² He died in 1808 in Guilford Co., North Carolina.²
     He and Ursula had the following known children: Christina (b 28 May 1790, d 1855), John (b 10 February 1792, d 3 December 1871), Mildred (b 9 January 1794), Nancy Anna (b 29 November 1796, d 1881), Jerimiah (b 6 January 1800, d 24 February 1880), Eli (b June 1803), Usley (b 18 September 1805), Jonathon (b 27 December 1807, d 10 April 1855).³

     Elizabeth Tharp was born about 1770.¹ She married first William Goalin on 8 December 1790 in Guilford Co., North Carolina.¹ She married second William Ryal on 13 September 1796 in Guilford Co., North Carolina.¹

     William Ryal was born about 1769.¹ He married Elizabeth Tharp, daughter of James Tharp, on 13 September 1796 in Guilford Co., North Carolina.¹

     Joseph Tharp was born about 1772.² He married first Mary Harris on 10 November 1791 in Guilford Co., North Carolina.² He married, second or third, Frances Chamberlain on 11 September 1830.³ He died in 1839 in Iredell Co., North Carolina.²
     He and his first wife Mary had the following known children, all born in Guilford Co., North Carolina: Peter (b abt 1792), Hance Hamilton (b abt 1804), Peggy (b abt 1806).²
     His will was dated 1 June 1839. He left all of his real estate, totaling 200 acres, to his wife Franky. At her death the property was to be divided equally among his five grandchildren. His sons Hance and Peter were each to receive $5.00 from the sale of his "perishables."²

     Sarah Tharp was born about 1773.¹

     Thomas Tharp was born about 1775.² He married Elizabeth Corneel on 12 August 1794 in Guilford Co., North Carolina.² He died in Wayne Co., Indiana.²
     He is listed in the 1800 and 1810 censuses in Guilford Co., North Carolina.² He and his wife Elizabeth moved to Wayne Co., Indiana, about 1811.² On 4 December 1811 he bought 160 acres of land in New Garden Twp., Wayne Co. (the northeast quarter of Section 11, Township 17 north, Range 14 east), from the federal government², and on 28 July 1814 he bought 160 acres in Green Twp., Wayne Co. (the southwest quarter of Section 21, Township 18 north, Range 14 east).² He is listed in Wayne Co. in the 1820 and 1830 censuses.²
     Before his death he donated 4 acres and 40 poles of his property in Green Twp. to the local Friends Society for a meeting house and cemetery, now known as the Center Friends Cemetery.²
     He and Elizabeth had the following known children: Andrew (b abt 1795), a daughter (b abt 1797), Alfred (b 18 August 1798, d 10 December 1848), Mary (b abt 1805), Laban (b 3 January 1807, d 23 November 1872).³
