     Frances Chamberlain was born about 1773.¹ She married Joseph Tharp, son of James Tharp, on 11 September 1830.²

     Elizabeth Corneel married Thomas Tharp, son of James Tharp, on 12 August 1794 in Guilford Co., North Carolina.¹
     She and her husband Thomas moved to Wayne Co., Indiana, about 1811.¹ They had the following known children: Andrew (b abt 1795), a daughter (b abt 1797), Alfred (b 18 August 1798, d 10 December 1848), Mary (b abt 1805), Laban (b 3 January 1807, d 23 November 1872).²

     Isaac Smith was born about 1779.¹ He married Esther Tharp, daughter of James Tharp, on 13 September 1799 in Guilford Co., North Carolina.¹
     He and Esther had one known child, Ann McQuarry (b 13 April 1821, d 19 April 1869), born in Wayne Co., Indiana.¹

     Elizabeth (?) married Isaac Tharp, son of John Tharp and Elizabeth Jordan, about 1764.¹

     Aaron Tharp was born about 1765.² He married twice, the first time about 1793, but the name of this wife, who was born abt 1766, is unknown.² He married second Mary (?) about 1812 in Guilford Co., North Carolina.² He died about 1829.²
     He and his first wife had the following known children, all born in Guilford Co., North Carolina: a son (b abt 1794), John (b abt 1796, d bef 13 February 1834), a son (b abt 1802), Milly (b abt 1802).²
     He and his second wife Mary had the following known children, all born in Guilford Co., North Carolina: Mary (b abt 1808), Dorcas (b abt 1813), James (b abt 1817).³

     Sarah Tharp was born about 1768.¹

     James Tharp was born about 1772.² He died on 22 June 1836 in Guilford Co., North Carolina.²
     He had the following known children, all born in Guilford Co., North Carolina: William (b abt 1792), Joseph (b abt 1794), Margaret (b abt 1796), Allen (b abt 1800), a son (b abt 1801), James (b abt 1803), Noah (b abt 1805, d 1850).²

     Mary (?) was born about 1770.¹ She married Aaron Tharp, son of Isaac Tharp and Elizabeth (?), about 1812 in Guilford Co., North Carolina.¹
     She and Aaron had the following known children, all born in Guilford Co., North Carolina: Mary (b abt 1808), Dorcas (b abt 1813), James (b abt 1817).²

     Leah Morris was born about 1757.¹ She married John Tharp, son of John Tharp and Elizabeth Jordan, about 1782 in Maryland.¹
     She and her husband John moved to North Carolina sometime before 1790¹ and to Dearborn Co. (now Franklin Co.), Indiana, by 1809.¹ They moved to Fayette Co., Indiana, in 1832.¹

     John Tharp was born about 1787.² He married Elizabeth Dollar, daughter of William James Dollar and Ruth Beasley, on 8 November 1812 in Franklin Co., Indiana.² He died about 1858 in Buckheart Twp., Fulton Co., Illinois.²
     He and Elizabeth had one known child, William H. (b 5 August 1813, d 5 December 1895).³

     Betsey Tharp was born about 1791 in Rowan Co., North Carolina.¹ She married Harvey Lockwood on 25 May 1818 in Franklin Co., Indiana.¹

     Harvey Lockwood was born about 1790.¹ He married Betsey Tharp, daughter of John Tharp and Leah Morris, on 25 May 1818 in Franklin Co., Indiana.¹

     Alsy Tharp was born about 1793 in Rowan Co., North Carolina.¹ She married Henry Hartman on 9 May 1819 in Franklin Co., Indiana.¹

     Henry Hartman was born about 1792.¹ He married Alsy Tharp, daughter of John Tharp and Leah Morris, on 9 May 1819 in Franklin Co., Indiana.¹

     Thomas Tharp was born about 1795 in Rowan Co., North Carolina.¹ He married Elizabeth Haymond on 9 December 1819 in Franklin Co., Indiana.¹

     Elizabeth Haymond was born about 1796.¹ She married Thomas Tharp, son of John Tharp and Leah Morris, on 9 December 1819 in Franklin Co., Indiana.¹

     Jerusha Tharp was born about 1799 in Rowan Co., North Carolina.¹ She married Isaac Updike on 1 January 1826 in Franklin Co., Indiana.¹

     Isaac Updike was born about 1798.¹ He married Jerusha Tharp, daughter of John Tharp and Leah Morris, on 1 January 1826 in Franklin Co., Indiana.¹

     Lavina Tharp was born on 20 November 1800 in Rowan Co., North Carolina.¹ She married James Edward Dollar, son of William James Dollar and Ruth Beasley, on 29 May 1816 in Franklin Co., Indiana.¹ She died on 21 December 1866 in Grant Co., Indiana, at age 66.¹ She was buried at Shiloh Cemetery in Grant Co., Indiana.¹

     James Edward Dollar was born on 29 September 1793 in Laurens Co., South Carolina.¹ He married Lavina Tharp, daughter of John Tharp and Leah Morris, on 29 May 1816 in Franklin Co., Indiana.¹ He died on 17 June 1872 in Grant Co., Indiana, at age 78.¹

     Deida Tharp was born in 1802 (the Tharp genealogy says 1801) in Rowan Co., North Carolina.^3,1 She married John Williams on 11 May 1820 in Franklin Co., Indiana.¹ She died on 10 February 1880 in Buckheart Twp., Fulton Co., Illinois.¹ She was buried at Orendorff Cemetery (now Orendorff and Breed Cemetery) in Fulton Co., Illinois.¹
     She and her husband John and their family moved to Union Twp., Fulton Co., Illinois, near Old Troy on Cedar Creek, in 1844.² Two years later they moved to Banner Twp. in Fulton Co., near Monterey.²

     John Williams was born in 1801 in Virginia (now West Virginia).¹ He married Deida Tharp, daughter of John Tharp and Leah Morris, on 11 May 1820 in Franklin Co., Indiana.¹ He died on 10 May 1875 in Buckheart Twp., Fulton Co., Illinois.^2,1 He was buried at Orendorff Cemetery (now Orendorff and Breed Cemetery) in Fulton Co., Illinois.¹

     She and John had one known child, William H. (b 5 August 1813, d 5 December 1895).²

     William Tharp was born in 1682 in Maryland.¹ He married Jane Austin, daughter of Thomas Austin, on 8 January 1709 in Easton, Talbot Co., Maryland.³ He died in 1748 in Talbot Co., Maryland.¹
     On 2 November 1717 he bought 50 acres of land in Talbot Co., Maryland, part of the Austin plantation in the area of Tuckahoe Creek, from Dennis Larey.¹ In 1733 he was included in the tax lists for Tuckahoe Hundred, Talbot Co., Maryland.¹ In 1735 he bought 50 acres of land near Hillsboro, part of a property named Colerain in Queen Anne's Co., Maryland, from John Jordan.¹
     His will was dated 30 August 1735 and proved on 1 December 1752. To his wife Jane, who was named executor, he left a saddle and bridle, her "woolen and linnen," a feather bed and furniture, and a chest and trunk. She also received the 50 acres he had purchased in 1717 for her use during her lifetime, after which it was to go to their son John, except for one acre which was to be reserved as a burying ground. She was also left the 50 acres her husband had purchased in 1735 for her use while a widow, after which it was to go to their son Thomas. He left a feather bed to his son John; a feather bed, and a mare and colt with saddle and bridle, to his son Isaac; his cooper tools to his son Thomas; a walnut table to his son William; a two-year-old mare to his daughter Mary; a two-gallon pot to his daughter Jane; and a two-gallon kettle to his daughter Elizabeth. Whatever remained of his estate after paying debts and funeral expenses was to be divided equally among his seven youngest children. His four youngest sons Abner, Joseph, Ogle, and William, were to be "free" at age 20 if his wife died or was remarried; otherwise they were to stay with her until age 21.¹

     Jane Austin was born about 1689.¹ She married William Tharp, son of Thomas Tharp and Elizabeth (?), on 8 January 1709 in Easton, Talbot Co., Maryland.²

     Thomas Tharp was born about 1713 in Talbot Co., Maryland.² He married first Elizabeth Birmingham on 1 January 1732 in St. Luke's Parish, Church Hill, Queen Anne's Co., Maryland.² He married second Hannah Horsley on 10 October 1749 in St. Luke's Parish, Church Hill, Queen Anne's Co., Maryland.²
     He was named in the tax lists for Tuckahoe Hundred, Talbot Co., Maryland, in 1733.² In 1748 he served in Capt. Robert Goldsborough's militia company in Talbot Co.²
     In the Tharp genealogy, the author hypothesizes that Thomas had moved away by the time his father's will was probated in 1752. This is based on the fact that his father left 50 acres of land for his widow's use during her widowhood, after which it was to go to Thomas. But, instead Thomas's brother John acquired the land, and sold it in 1755 to their brother Isaac, with a notation in the deed that Thomas had no claim to the land.²
     He and his first wife Elizabeth had eight known children, six sons and two daughters.²

     Isaac Tharp was born about 1715 in Talbot Co., Maryland.² He married Margaret (?) in 1734.² He died in 1783 in Mispillion Hundred, Kent Co., Delaware.²
     He was listed on the tax rolls for Tuckahoe Hundred, Talbot Co., Maryland, in 1733.²
     He served with his brothers John and Ogle in Capt. John Emory's company of the Queen Anne's Co., Maryland, militia, where their names appear on the rolls on 6 February 1748/49.³
     In June 1745 he bought 33 acres of land, part of a property called Colerain near Hillsboro in Queen Anne's Co., Maryland.⁴ In November 1755 he bought 50 acres from his brother John, that had also been part of the Colerain property. This was the same property that his father William had purchased in 1735, and left to his son Thomas in his will, but that was then acquired by John.⁴ In 1757 he sold both of these properties to Daniel Cox.²
     In 1757 he moved to Mispillion Hundred, Kent Co., Delaware, where he lived the rest of his life.²
